What kind of culture—what kind of home—are we leaving for the generations to come?
What is it that we are weaving together across time?
When we stand in the midst of this world today, is there still something we can do—if only to remain true to who we are?

From the top 1% eroding the middle and lower classes, to fascistic governance undermining democracy, the invasion of Ukraine, the genocide in Gaza—and countless other critical events unfolding in the shadows of media attention—we live in a time where exclusion, exploitation, and abuse of power have become deeply entrenched. They don’t just shape our politics; they seep into the very values we carry into our daily lives and relationships.

And when injustice becomes normalised, when we are left with broken systems and broken hearts, values like compassion, love, support, and understanding—so absent in the macro and political sphere—become all the more essential to honour in our personal lives, with our families and communities, even if it’s just within our own extended arms, reaching out for a hug.

Yet even amid so much grief and uncertainty, countless beautiful communities still blossom—nurtured by a shared love for wisdom, creativity, language, culture, cuisine…the unfathomable beauty of diversity that embraces our world.

From Fukuoka, Japan, we explore and celebrate this shared belonging through humble projects rooted in collaboration and inclusivity, to heal and blossom together.

Welcome to Return Co.—named after a feeling, a return to an inner space where floating in the ocean beneath a shared sunset is all the language we need to know we are family—just people sharing the only home we’ve ever known. Nothing more, nothing less.

With serenity, joy, and deep Japanese bows of respect from Fukuoka,

Ryo
